Hephaestus
Player customisation is awesome! A way for a player to show a little about themselves leading to hundreds of unique shapes and sizes. When you're the blacksmith catering for all of this it's more of a headache...
In a role reversal, play as an armour-smith having to create armour for every customised player character which comes your way.
Struggling to get the hammering working? Here's a few tips!
- You can only hammer the work on the anvil.
- The work has to be white hot, you can't form it if it cools
- You have to hit the material with proper force! To weak and it wont form
- Try putting the hammer on the anvil and hitting the hammer with the armour!
How do I know what armour to make!?
The customer will tell you what material they want their armour made out of. You can tell the rest by looking at them! Are they big? Make sure to use 3 billets. Have they got 6 arms? Make sure the armour does too!
Submitted as a solo project as part of the 2023 GMTK GameJam with theme "role reversal"
Also yes, there's no audio I did this on my own and it was the last thing to add
How to play
Try to create armour to match the requests of the customised player characters.
To start, pickup billets from the crates by clicking on them.
Drag the billets into the foundry on the left to melt them down. Adding more material will make larger armour. Check the size of the player and the gauge on the foundry to make sure you're making it the right size! You can also mix metals in the foundry to make different coloured alloys.
Pull the lever on the foundry to cast the molten metal into armour.
Use the hammer and anvil to form the armour and create more arm holes. Be aware, you can only form the armour whilst it's hot. If the armour has cooled down, use the forge on the right to heat it back up.
Give your made armour to the customers by dragging it to the armour icon.
